LOOK OF THE DAY!

Fashion plays a huge role in the lives of many. Other people's first impressions of you typically include your appearance as well as your personality and professionalism. In order to carry yourself well all year long, it's important to understand fashion etiquette. One of the most widely discussed fashion issues is white pants, skirts, shoes and bags. Read on to discover the new etiquette for white pants.

History

  • You've more than likely heard the "rule" that white pants are only to be worn after Memorial Day and never after Labor Day. While some people still follow that fashion rule, it's not as widely practiced anymore. Because of the variety of shades of white and the many fabrics that are used in clothing today, wearing white can be done year-round.

Styles

  • Another rule pertaining to white pants etiquette used to be avoid white pants unless you were model thin. Whether you are a full-figured lady or model thin, there is a style of white pants that will look good on you. One rule for everyone when shopping for a pair of white pants is to go up one size if you are between sizes. Pants that are too small, especially in white, cause the wearer to look lumpy, sloppy and larger than she is.
Do not wear pleated pants; they add to your width and are not flattering on any body type. Instead, opt for a pair of wide-legged pants featuring a flat front. This tends to leave the wearer looking sleek and pulled together, and works for any body type. For slimmer women, a pair of skinny jeans in white works well.
White pants etiquette also pertains to underclothes. Poor taste is exhibited if you wear a nice pair of white pants with visible panty lines. Opt for a thong panty in nude or white if the pants are even slightly sheer. Undergarments should never be visible.

LOOK of the Day!

One of the more overlooked areas of stylish dressing is the relationship between belts and shoes. The first point to make regarding belts and shoes is that you should not actually match them, they should compliment each other.  They should work together visually but not match so closely that it looks like you purchased them as a set!
If you are wearing red shoes I can pretty much guarantee that your shoes are the focal point of your outfit and a red belt with Raybans would only serve to knock your look right over the edge.

Short? Fat? DOES NOT MATTER! You can look amazing in your MAXI DRESS !

Your Height and Weight does not matter! You can still look amazing in your Maxi dress.

The maxi dress is always on TREND!
The maxi dress has gone from being hippy chick holiday wear to being a summer staple.
Let's be honest, ladies love it because you can look like you're embracing fashion without shaving your legs.

But just because it covers a multitude of sins, it still needs a bit of consideration because there are pitfalls aplenty.
It might seem like a casual look, but you still need to think about how the dress fits and what underwear you're going to wear with it.
If your bra straps are going to be on show, make sure they're pretty.
If you've got adjustable straps on the dress, make sure they're taut or put in a stitch or two - to ensure you don't look like you've wandered off a beach.
But the biggest danger is that by swathing yourself in acres of material you can end up looking like you're wearing a tent.
Give your body some shape by opting for a style that gives you a defined waist.
Alternatively, use a belt to cinch things in or add a jacket to give you a more defined silhouette. Finally, team with flats or wedges - spindly shoes.
